Listen in on a Dunleavy team meeting and you will hear a lot of laughter. When Nancy Dunleavy founded Dunleavy & Associates in 2001, she knew her first investment was to build a talented team of respected professionals who could deliver expert services while maintaining a fun-loving spirit.
“The two non-negotiable common denominators for the members of the Dunleavy team are talent and heart,” says Nancy.
Dunleavy & Associates provides project management, contracted leadership, and advisory services to charitable organizations who need a trusted partner, not a traditional consulting firm. Their client list includes health and human services agencies, arts and culture organizations, foundations, colleges and schools, economic development organizations and professional organizations – over 350 non-profits served! Dunleavy fundraising specialists have helped organizations raise over $500M.
And with the “Great Resignation” Dunleavy has increased its Executive Search work, most recently successfully placing leaders at Puentas de Salud, Colonial Theatre, Keystone Opportunity Center, Special Olympics Delaware and Campus Philly.
While the world continues to debate the benefits of remote work, Nancy has already blazed that trail and empowered her team to “get the project done,” by providing a fully remote work model from day one - that’s 21 years ago! Team members work from throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, New England, and Southern state regions.
If you happen to read the signature line on Dunleavy staff emails you will notice the words “Standards for Excellence Pennsylvania Licensed Consultant.” Securing that license for every team member is essential for Nancy, “In addition to maintaining values, ethics and good governance, providing our professionals with the tools and resources to guide our clients has become increasingly important.”
The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) is a statewide membership organization which supports thousands of nonprofits. PANO is licensed by the national Standards for Excellence Institute to provide Standards for Excellence® training to meet the highest standards, legal requirements, and regulatory compliance of nonprofit governance, management, and operations.
Dunleavy & Associates holds the record for being the organization with the most licensed members. Team member Marta Rubin Kiesling also holds the National Standards for Excellence license.
Recently, Nancy appointed team member Dr. Shannon Mason as EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Strategist. Shannon brings 15 years of organizational strategy and leadership experience with a special focus on promoting equity and growth through a range of evaluation tools and methods.
“Since opening our doors, we are committed to seeking out, nurturing, and empowering a wide array of perspectives and experiences represented within the common ground of our humanity. We believe equity represents access to the best talent and the greatest outcomes. We believe diversity is a priceless gift. And we believe an inclusive team is a stronger team, for ourselves and for the communities we serve,” confirms Nancy.
“We bring all that we’ve got to our diverse array of client engagements because they deserve it. The mission-focused organizations we serve do outstanding work making an impact for good in this world. Because they are making a difference, we need to bring our best differences forward in service to their best outcomes.”
